The fabric requires a license key to run. The fabric worker installation file includes a default 5 worker/10 logical CPU license that will never expire. When you decide to purchase the Appistry EAF software, Appistry will send you a replacement key. The replacement key will allow you to have a larger fabric, but will also have an expiration date. Once the license key reaches its expiration date, the entire fabric stops processing and the fabric keeper writes a message to the log monitor. When the fabric contains the maximum allowed worker machines and/or CPU cores, and another machine joins the fabric, the fabric services will not start on that worker, and the fabric keeper writes a message to the log monitor.
If your license key is close to expiring or you need to increase the number of machines or CPU cores allowed in your fabric, contact your Appistry Sales representative or contact support.
