Any interest in Mac OS X tools?
One of our developers has been playing around with porting the fabric's development/deployment tools to Mac OS X, e.g. fabric_ctl and log_monitor, fabric_pkg. This is very much a skunk-works project that he's been working on in his spare time.
This won't help with running the fabric itself on OS X, but particularly for those of you doing Java development, it would allow you to package applications and deploy them to your remote fabric from your Mac workstation.
I'm wondering what kind of interest there is in the community for something like this if we were to make it publicly available? Reply here if you're interested.

I develop on OS X Leopard, so I would love to have fabric tools for that OS!
What about Ubuntu? We would have more of an interest since we develop on a mixture of Ubuntu and Redhat.
thanks
Please see here for help getting the fabric up and running on Ubuntu: http://www.appistry.com/developers/forums/content/other-linux-distros
I'd use the tools since I develop on a mac. I'm not all that interested in running the fabric on a mac though, it's just as easy to load it up under RedHat in a VM and that gives me a deployment environment that looks more like my production environment anyway.
