Michael Pinette Joins Appistry as Vice President of Business Development
Industry Veteran Brings Deep Technology Experience and Relationships to Cloud Platform Leader
St. Louis, Mo. April 16, 2009 -- Appistry, the leading provider cloud platform software for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Michael Pinette as vice president of business development. Mr. Pinette joins the company at a time of explosive growth, and in his role will drive the expansion of the company's channel partnerships and strategic alliances.
Applying his substantial industry experience as a business development and sales executive, Mr. Pinette most recently led Zend Technologies' strategic alliances and channel efforts as vice president of business development. At Zend, a PHP applications company, he defined, drove and closed strategic business relationships with IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, MySQL, Adobe, Ubuntu, Parallels and several regional systems integrators. These relationships were instrumental in validating PHP usage in the enterprise and expanded the Zend ecosystem and business opportunities in key market segments. Mr. Pinette was also responsible for the creation and expansion of the professional services and consulting team globally at Zend and orchestrated key solution deals with France Telecom, Portugal Telecom, BT, Verizon/AMP'd, PayPal, Filemaker and others.
Prior to joining Zend, Mr. Pinette served in executive positions at Actional Corporation (acquired by Progress Software), with responsibility for company partnerships and OEM relationships. Earlier, he served as VP of business development and marketing at Infogain, Inc., and senior director of business development, strategic alliances, at TIBCO Finance Technology, Inc. (acquired by Reuters, Inc.) where he forged strategic relationships with IBM, Adobe, Siebel, Amdocs, Peoplesoft, Veritas, BEA, Tibco, Sun, Microsoft and a host of financial services application solution providers including systems integrators. Mike also drove and delivered the pre-IPO investment from Sun Microsystems for Tibco Softwares very successful IPO. During his successful career Mr. Pinette also held a variety of sales and marketing executive positions with Informix Software, Inc., and Digital Equipment Corporation.>
