The development of Ayrris™ / DEFENSE was guided by our mission to create a superior platform for HPC and analytics applications that would simplify deployment and system maintenance. We rethought how data is stored and maintained, bypassing traditional architectures to distribute both computation and storage. Instead of moving data to the work, we developed a way to move the work to the data to speed up the process of delivering mission-critical information. The result is a uniquely adaptable, infinitely scalable, and highly reliable set of solutions that free up valuable time and resources for the developers, application specialists and data analysts supporting the warfighter.

Ayrris / DEFENSE performs complex analytics in a fraction of the time by digging down to the root of each computational challenge and designing the most direct path to a solution. Built around a robust pipeline automation system, Ayrris / DEFENSE shifts the responsibility for data manipulation and management from the analyst to an automated system built for massively parallel execution. With a common data framework underneath the automated analytic pipelines, Ayrris minimizes the silos of analysis and the movement of data in the network. The minimization of data movement between analytic steps and during data processing is one of many key attributes of Ayrris/Defense.

COMPUTATIONAL STORAGE™

Computational Storage™ breaks traditional analytics architectures by moving the work to the data instead of moving data to the work. The Ayrris Platform provides a distributed, reliable file storage system residing on the same computers as the execution framework. As Ayrris understands the needs of the application through the Analytic Pipelines, the system can schedule the processing work to occur on the machines holding the data. This greatly reduces latencies in traditional data processing architectures and provides performance gains to established software and tools.

PIPELINE AUTOMATION

Ayrris™ / DEFENSE unifies analytics algorithms and input data with HPC patterns to construct Ayrris Technology Modules. These Technology Modules execute analytic tools across system nodes to minimize execution time and cost while raising reliability and utilization.

Ayrris' Analytic Pipelines are a high-level representation of the processing steps necessary to translate raw data into actionable information. A user simply states the sequence of actions and the tools to be applied within the analytic pipeline. These actions are constructed from High Performance Computation implementation templates provided by Appistry. With this representation, the user is shielded from low-level, distributed computing engineering efforts. Once complete, the Ayrris Platform maps the Analytic Pipeline against the computation resources available to construct the best execution plan for the provided data set.

Ayrris Analytics Certification

As part of our commitment to the success of our partners and customers, we’ve developed a comprehensive certification program. Designed to empower developers to create custom pipelines using the Ayrris analytics framework, training modules include:

• Cloud application architecture & HPC patterns
• Ayrris Analytics pipeline development
• Ayrris system deployment and administration

Additional training modules are available on an invitation basis for senior certified developers.
